Meet Jake & Mike 

Hi, I’m Jake, and my dad, Mike, and I are the father-and-son team behind Made in the Shade Northwest Arkansas. 

Family is at the center of everything for us. I’m married to my wife, Jessica, and we have two kids—our daughter, Emerson, and our son, Hudson. Our house is also home to our two French Bulldogs, Willow and Wilder, so there’s rarely a dull moment around our house. 

My faith is a huge part of who I am and what drives me each and every day. It keeps me grounded and guides how I try to live my life—as a husband, a father, a son, a business owner, and in the way I treat the people around me. 

Being a positive impact in our community is also incredibly important to me. I want Emerson and Hudson to grow up seeing the importance of helping others, building genuine relationships, and being a part of something bigger than themselves. Northwest Arkansas is a community we’re proud to be a part of, and I want our family to give back to the place and people around us. 

Getting to do all of this alongside my dad makes it even more special. Mike has always been someone I’ve looked up to, and having him by my side during this chapter of our lives is something I don’t take for granted. And I can’t talk about my dad without mentioning one of the biggest and best people in my life—my beautiful mother, Josi. She’s Mike’s much better 90% and a huge part of everything we do. If you know our family, you know just how important she is to all of us. 

At the end of the day, I’m a husband, a dad, a son, a man of faith, a business owner, and someone who wants to leave a positive impact on the people and community around me. That’s what matters most to me.
